What is affiliate marketing?

wildsurvival.net is an independent content site that participates in affiliate marketing programmes. Affiliate marketing is a partnership model in which a website recommends products or services and earns a commission when a visitor makes a purchase through a link provided by that site.

How does it work in practice?

When you click on an affiliate link on wildsurvival.net, you are redirected to the partner merchant’s website (for example Amazon or EcoFlow). If you make a purchase within the timeframe covered by the affiliate cookie, wildsurvival.net earns a commission from the merchant.

This commission is entirely covered by the merchant: the price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone directly to the merchant’s website without going through wildsurvival.net. Affiliate marketing costs you nothing.

Affiliate cookies

For the commission to be correctly attributed, partner merchants place a cookie on your browser at the time of the click. This cookie has a variable lifespan depending on the partner:

Amazon Associates: 24 hours EcoFlow France: 7 days Hardloop: 30 days Other partners: variable duration

If you delete your cookies before making your purchase, the commission will not be attributed to us. This does not affect your shopping experience or the price you pay in any way.

Our editorial commitment and independence

The commissions earned through affiliation are wildsurvival.net’s primary source of revenue and allow us to keep the site freely accessible to all.

However, our model is built on the trust of our readers. That is why we are committed to the following principles:

Commissions never influence our recommendations. We recommend the products we genuinely consider to be the best for each use case and budget, regardless of the commission rate.

We honestly report the flaws and limitations of products. A comparison that only mentions advantages is not useful.

When a cheaper product, one without an affiliate link or one available outside our partner network is objectively the best choice, we say so clearly.

We clearly distinguish editorial content from any sponsored content.

Identification of affiliate links

Affiliate links are naturally integrated into our articles as buttons or text links. A disclosure banner is present at the beginning of each article containing affiliate links, with the following notice: “This article contains affiliate links. If you purchase through these links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.”
